FAQs
How to Install Your Roof Rider bike rack
Step 1: Clean the Mounting Surface
Using a clean cloth, wipe down the area where you plan to mount the rack.
Step 2: Remove Your Front Wheel
Remove your bike’s front wheel and attach the fork directly to the Roof Rider rack using either your quick-release skewer or through-axle.
Don't worry about compatibility — every Roof Rider rack comes with all the adapters you'll need.
Step 3: Secure the Front of the Bike
Remove the protective covers from the vacuum cups and place the rack (now with your bike attached) facing forward in your chosen position on your roof.
Once you're happy with the placement, pump the plunger on each vacuum cup until the coloured indicator band is no longer visible. This means the cups have reached full vacuum pressure.
Step 4: Attach the Rear Wheel Support
Position the rear wheel mount and secure it in the same way by pumping the vacuum cup until the coloured indicator is hidden.
Step 5: Strap in the Rear Wheel
Place the rear wheel into the support and fasten it securely using the supplied wheel strap.
Step 6: Final Check
Before setting off, check that:
- All vacuum cup indicators remain hidden
- The bike is securely attached at the fork
- The rear wheel strap is tight
- The bike is facing forwards
You're Ready to Ride
That's it. Your Roof Rider rack is installed and ready for the road. Enjoy the ride.
How do I remove a Roof Rider once I am done?
Easy, simply lift the tabs on the vacuum cups to break the vacuum seal and you'll be able to remove the racks.
How do the vacuum cups work?
Science! Alright, listen up, because we're about to dive into the science of our vacuum cups!
When you slap your RoofRider vacuum cup onto a surface it forms a tight seal. By using the pump on our racks, you suck out trapped under the cup creating a pressure differential. The atmospheric pressure on the outside of the cup then presses down on it, ensuring it sticks to your car like nothing else.
